Hello, I’m Alexandre Dubois
Founder & Editor-in-Chief of NeuchCup.ch
My name is Alexandre Dubois, I’m 35 years old, and I live in Neuchâtel, Switzerland with my wife Emma and our twin daughters, Sophie and Claire (7 years old). Since 2020, I’ve been running NeuchCup, a Swiss-based company dedicated to sustainable living and reusable tableware solutions.
My Background
After completing my Master’s in Environmental Science at ETH Zurich, I spent 8 years working in corporate sustainability consulting across Switzerland and France. I started as a junior consultant at EY, then moved to Deloitte where I specialized in circular economy strategies for SMEs and municipalities.
In 2019, while organizing my wedding, I was shocked by the amount of single-use plastic required for just one event. That’s when the idea for NeuchCup was born – creating a practical, affordable solution for reusable tableware rental while educating people about sustainable living.
Why NeuchCup Exists
NeuchCup was founded on a simple principle: making sustainability accessible and practical for everyone.
In Switzerland, we throw away over 760,000 tons of plastic waste annually. Meanwhile, most people want to live more sustainably but struggle with practical solutions that fit their lifestyle and budget.
My mission: Provide high-quality reusable tableware rental services while educating communities about zero-waste living through actionable content.
NeuchCup isn’t just about renting cups and plates. We’re building a movement where sustainable choices become the obvious choices. Every article we publish, every product we rent, every event we support contributes to a larger goal: proving that environmental responsibility and modern living can coexist beautifully.
My Expertise
- Environmental Science: MSc from ETH Zurich, specialized in waste management systems
- Circular Economy: 8+ years consulting experience with 50+ Swiss companies
- Event Sustainability: Certified in ISO 20121 (Sustainable Event Management)
- Zero Waste Education: Trained facilitator for Swiss Zero Waste Association
- Reusable Product Testing: Personal experience with 200+ sustainable product alternatives since 2018
I’m not a celebrity chef or lifestyle influencer. I’m a scientist-turned-entrepreneur who believes data-driven sustainability education can change behaviors. Every recommendation on our site is backed by research or personal testing.
My Life Beyond NeuchCup
I’m an avid hiker – you’ll find me exploring the Jura Mountains every weekend, often with my daughters strapped to my back! I’m also a passionate amateur photographer, specializing in macro photography of alpine flora.
My guilty pleasure? Collecting vintage Swiss watches (yes, I see the irony in a sustainability advocate collecting material objects, but Swiss craftsmanship represents the “buy it for life” principle I advocate).
At home, we practice what we preach – our family produces less than one bag of waste per month, and our girls are already teaching their classmates about composting and reusing materials.
My Values
Scientific Integrity: Every claim is researched. Every product is tested. No greenwashing. Local First: Supporting Swiss and European suppliers whenever possible. Practical Solutions: Sustainability that actually works in real life, not just in theory. Community Education: Knowledge sharing without judgment or eco-shaming. Innovation with Purpose: Technology and tradition working together for environmental good.
